A scheme to extend the existing kitchen and open it up to the rear garden, and rearrange the internal spaces to create a bright, comfortable social hub for the house. The extension itself is small enough to be classed as permitted development and not require planning consent. Most of the kitchen storage kitchen was extended internally into the little-used breakfast room, and the new central island unit now works for cooking and informal meals.
